Supetar

Supetar on the island of Brač is the administrative, economic, cultural and tourist centre of the island of Brač, and is also the largest settlement on the island with over 4 thousand inhabitants. It is located on the north side of the island of Brač connected by regular ferry lines with the mainland and the city of Split.

Supetar is named after Sveti Petar (St. Peter) bay where this beautiful Dalmatian town was founded in the 15th century. Today, Supetar is a symbol of the island whose inhabitants can enjoy all the benefits of life on the island, as well as the availability of services and economic benefits offered by a big city such as Split.
Brač Airport is only 30 kilometres away from Supetar, connecting this centre of Brač with the whole world. Although Supetar has long crossed the frames of a typical island small town, it has maintained its charm which characterised Dalmatian coastal places, owing to its historical sights in the city centre, as well as the promenade of every „little village“. Some of the most famous archaeological monuments on the island of Brač are located in the area of Supetar, Mirca, Splitska and of course Škripa, the inevitable historical pearl of the island of Brač, where the Museum of the Brač island is situated, which presents the rich history of this Dalmatian island.
Supetar offers a great number of quality apartments and excellent hotel accommodation. It is an excellent place for a year-round tourism and offers its visitors numerous opportunities for rest. The most famous Supetar beaches are Banj, Babin Laz and Vlačica. Whether you come to Supetar by ferry or plane, once you arrive, your holiday is guaranteed.
