Explore Dalmatia

The central and southern Croatian coastline, including the Adriatic coastline in the northern part of the sea, has the historical name of Dalmatia. It is an elongated coastline, about 400 km long and up to 70 km wide in the central part. In the more spacious north-western part, it is bordered by mountain chains in the north, making the hinterland of the narrow coastal belt.

It covers an area of about 12,260 km2 or about 22% of the territory of Croatia, with 850,000 inhabitants or 20% of Croatia’s population.
It is the area where religions, cultures, nations y encountered, lived but also collided, leaving archaeological, architectural and historical monuments dating back to the far past prior to the new era, all in a beautiful environment of crystal clear sea, rivers and streams of potable water, poor land which produces high-quality products and wonderful people in these areas.
Mr. Winston Churchill once said that this area produces more history than he can consume, and scatters history into the surrounding countries as well.
Dalmatia is a region where it is nice to live and enjoy it even better. This is also the reason why for a number of years the record number of arrivals of foreign tourists has been recorded.
The Brač Airport is located in the centre of Dalmatia, as it covers its continental and also an aquatorial region with the beautiful islands of Hvar, Vis, Šolta and Korčula and Mljet in the south.

The other ferry line connects Sumartin with Makarska on the east of the island and runs several times a day.
